about
Alban Schelbert (CH) is a composer and musician in the fields of film, performance and visual art often engaging in collaborative practices. He studied at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and is currently doing a master's degree in Composition & Theory – Sound Design at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Hanne Lippard (NO/DE), born in 1984 in Mil- ton Keynes, GB, lives and works in Berlin. Lippard’s practise explores the voice as a medium.
«The recording process for this piece began with a trip to Paris in the late summer days of 2020 in order to visit my friend Hanne Lippard at the Cité des Arts, where she currently is an artist in residence. I brought my binaural microphone to try out some vocal recordings in different environments in a city almost void of both tourists and locals due to a public holiday as well as the current pandemic. With these vacant conditions as a backdrop, we headed out for a recording excursion, and entered a garden in the 2nd [arrondissement].» – Alban
